Brayut Here we go!

Schools always have various ways to help students gain insight. Not only through learning materials and stories, experience can also be used as a more valuable addition to insight. Therefore, the school invites students to take part in joint activities outside of school, such as retreats and camping. The retreat was held to strengthen our faith and awaken ourselves to always thank God. While camping is to train management, improve cooperation between students, and practice courage.

This year, our school has a Live In for Grade 8. Live In is our first school program. The Live In location is located in Yogyakarta, Central Java, precisely in Sleman Regency. Our school chooses Brayut Village and Karang Tanjung Village as a place for Live In. Students from buses 1, 2 and 3 are in Brayut Village, while students from buses 4 and 5 are in Karang Tanjung Village. Now, we will share our experiences during Live In in Brayut Village.

During Live In, we stayed at the houses of Brayut Village residents. One house can be filled with 5-6 students. There, we mingled with the environment and family. There are some students who tidy up their luggage first, there are those who want to explore Brayut Village, some even have helped their family's home.

Our days are filled with educational and fun activities. We learned the art of music and dance through Karawitan, a Javanese musical art that refers to the game of Gamelan music. We also learn to make batik and make various creations from coconut leaves, such as sword Keris, crowns, and others. Not only that, we were also taught how to grow rice and cultivate fish.

Brayut Tourism Village has its own beauty. On the right side of the village, there is a beautiful river that flows clean and clear. Views that are green, beautiful and soothing to the eyes makes us forget all of our problems for a while. Not only that, the good reception from the companions made our hearts feel happy and accepted. The friendly smile from the residents of Brayut Village also reminds us to always be friendly to each other.

For 4 days in Brayut Village, we enjoyed and went through activities with cheerfulness. Students can blend in with the environment there, and can be separated from mobile phones and other electronic devices easily. We were very fortunate to be the students that tried Live In for the first time. We never thought that Live In will be this interesting. The various knowledge that has been given will be made as provisions for later in the future. We are very thankful to the teachers for preparing and organizing this event well. Our Live In is very memorable, and can be considered a success, as the first program.
